HIAA is seeking a Vice President, People & Culture (VP, P&C) to join their Executive Management Team and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of their Human Resources (HR) functions.
What Does this Role Entail?
Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the VP, P&C will lead all aspects of HR, including labour and employee relations, organizational culture, recruitment, compensation, benefits, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), career development and succession planning.
Partnering closely with the Executive Management Team, Senior Leadership Team, and the Board, the VP, P&C will ensure that people and culture remain at the center of HIAA’s strategic priorities and long-term success while ensuring HIAA remains an employer of choice in Atlantic Canada.
This on-site position is based at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Goffs, NS.

As the ideal candidate, you:
- Bring extensive senior leadership experience in Human Resources, with expertise spanning recruitment, compensation, employee and labour relations, training, performance management, and succession planning, ideally within a highly regulated, unionized environment.
- Have a successful track record of leading workplace culture transformation, guiding organizational change, and fostering collaboration within and across teams.
- Have built organization-wide HR structures grounded in best practices and led the design and implementation of programs that attract, retain, and develop top talent.
- Possess a deep understanding of HR legislation, regulations, compliance, and policies, enabling you to serve as a trusted advisor on a broad range of workplace issues.
- Are known for being data-driven and innovative, leveraging analytics and HR technologies to enhance service delivery, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.
- Are a natural communicator and collaborator who thrives in a team-oriented environment, anticipating needs, building trust, and ensuring alignment across the organization.
- Hold a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; a professional designation such as CPHR or SHRM is considered a strong asset.
