Shannex is seeking a Director of Talent & HR Strategy to lead mission-critical execution of the recruitment function across our rapidly expanding organization. The Director ensures optimal hiring practices and leads all projects driving a positive experience for candidates and new hires through talent attraction, acquisition and early-stage retention, including employer brand, value proposition, strategic sourcing strategies and candidate pipeline development. Leading a team of 15+ across NS, NB and ON, the Director is held accountable for attaining immediate recruitment and retention KPIs as well as developing medium- and long-term strategies to ensure strong pipelines of talent to support future growth. 

What this role entails:
Reporting to the Vice President, People and Culture, the Director ensures process excellence and creative recruitment strategy, including relationships with community, educational institutions and immigration partners. 
This role is based at head office in Bedford, Nova Scotia, with occasional travel required. There is significant room for professional growth as Shannex expands and its HR department scales. 

As the ideal candidate, you:
  • Bring 15+ years of Human Resources experience, including 5+ years leading talent acquisition teams in a service environment
  • Love to build and execute processes and structure, but bring an entrepreneurial spirit, ready to adapt and innovate. 
  • Have experience leading the talent function in a fast-moving, unionized environment.
  • Are equally comfortable attending a recruitment event and presenting in the boardroom. 
  • Are deeply analytical and value diving into the data, trends and potential impacts to the talent pipeline. At the same time, you can make decisions and quicky action practical solutions.
  • Have a talent for fostering a culture of dedication, innovation and accountability
  • Hold a degree in human resources or a related field, and ideally a CPHR designation, RPR or equivalent.
