KBRS and Meridia Bolster Ownership and Strengthen Commitment to Expansion

Halifax, NS (June 5, 2023) – KBRS and Meridia Recruitment Solutions are pleased to share that four leaders within the organization have become equity partners. This move further expands the firm’s equity ownership group of professionals who are united in a commitment to provide exceptional service and trusted counsel to organizations in Atlantic Canada, across Canada, and internationally. 

The new equity partners will support the continued growth of the organization which specializes in executive search, recruitment solutions, HR consulting, leadership development, and career transition. 

Led by Managing Partners, Kevin Stoddart, Andrea Forbes Hurley, Katherine Risley, and Natalie Hand, KBRS and Meridia have grown to include more than 70 professionals, with offices in Halifax, Toronto, St. John’s, and Moncton, and an impressive list of clients across a wide variety of sectors in an increasing number of regions. 

“While each of our new equity partners have contributed to the growth of our organization in different ways, they all share our commitment to serving the best interests of our clients, our candidates, and our colleagues,” said Kevin Stoddart, Managing Partner and twenty-three-year recruitment veteran. “The announcement of four new equity partners is an important step forward in our long-term succession planning for the firm, and our drive to continue to offer our clients effective and innovative solutions to their talent needs.” 

The organization’s newest equity partners include: 

  • Jennie Massey, PhD - KBRS Executive Search Practice Leader for Newfoundland and Labrador and Partner within the firm’s Academic Search practice, Jennie draws on her experience leading complex organizations and multidisciplinary teams to support our clients in identifying the leaders they need to succeed. A trusted advisor, she has a strong track record of supporting organizations with their most challenging leadership decisions, both in her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada and internationally. 
  • Thomas Pugh, MBA, rmc – Partner and leader within Meridia’s Architecture, Engineering and Construction recruitment practice, Thomas has played a pivotal role in establishing a team of recruiters focused on the needs of American organizations in the field. More recently, he has taken an increasing leadership role in supporting the needs of organizations in Atlantic Canada.  
  • Adam Creaghan, CPA, CMA – Partner and leader of Meridia’s Ontario based team, Adam successfully supported the founding of the firm’s Toronto office in 2018. Today he leads a team of recruitment professionals dedicated to a growing number of organizations in the province, with a particular focus on roles in legal; finance and accounting; professional services; architecture, engineering, and construction; and IT. 
  • Mark Gillis – Partner and leader of Meridia’s Academic focused recruitment practice, which was launched more than two years ago, has quickly established relationships with post-secondary institutions from coast to coast. Mark complements the work of KBRS’s renowned Academic search practice by supporting the recruitment of key professional and staff roles within a wide array of post-secondary institutions.
