Halifax, Nova Scotia (July 6, 2020) – McInnes Cooper is pleased to announce the hire of a Chief Strategy & Operations Officer, Roberto Pont, who started with the firm today.

“The Chief Strategy & Operations Officer is the most senior non-practicing leadership position at McInnes Cooper, accountable for developing and implementing innovative business strategy and managing operations,” said Kevin Kiley, Managing Partner of McInnes Cooper. “We are confident that Roberto’s skill set and combination of strategic and operational experience will support our continued focus on business growth and innovation and effective oversight of our business operations.”

Prior to McInnes Cooper, Roberto held several executive positions supporting KPMG’s Global Advisory business as well as KPMG Canada’s Management Consulting practice. Before joining the executive team, Roberto held various senior client advisory roles in Canada, the UK and Spain. Roberto is a qualified accountant and Fellow of his institute. Beyond his professional career, Roberto has actively contributed to the community in Toronto as a board member of a cooperative daycare, securing affordable childcare for the community.

A seasoned traveller, Roberto has lived across the globe in Canada, the UK, Spain, Hong Kong, the Congo, Venezuela, and Guatemala. He is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with an intermediate comprehension of French. When off the clock, he enjoys cooking, playing sports, and spending time with his wife and two kids.

In this newly created position of Chief Strategy & Operations Officer (CSOO), Roberto will lead McInnes Cooper’s business growth, identify new opportunities and continue growing and diversifying the firm’s service offerings, while also overseeing business operations. A key member of the Firm Wide Management Team, Roberto will report to the Managing Partner, supporting the development and execution of the firm’s strategic plans and business objectives, and collaborate with the CFO on all aspects of financial management.
