The 211 Nova Scotia Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Mastropaolo as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer.

Darren brings over a decade of experience fostering innovation, growth, and impact within the nonprofit, and social service sector with a strong track record in digital transformation, strategic fundraising, and policy influence. His career spans senior leadership roles at Kids Help Phone, Crisis Text Line, and DoSomething.org, where he led initiatives raising millions of dollars, implementing data-informed service delivery, and significantly improving accessibility and outcomes, especially for vulnerable communities.

At Kids Help Phone, Darren led the creation of the Innovation portfolio, modernized technology and data infrastructure, developed new service models, and secured funding to enable sustainable growth. His expertise in navigating external partner relationships, securing funding, and fostering strong community partnerships prepares him to guide 211 Nova Scotia, ensuring services remain accessible, adaptable, and impactful in a rapidly changing landscape.

The Board is grateful to Nick Jennery for his leadership as Interim Executive Director. Nick has embraced the 211NS mission and thoughtfully provided guidance to staff and counsel to the Board ensuring continuity of service at a key time for the organization. Darren officially assumes his role as Chief Executive Officer of 211 Nova Scotia on July 21, 2025.
