North Atlantic is seeking an accomplished and visionary executive to lead one of Atlantic Canada's most significant energy and logistics organizations through its next phase of growth, innovation, and market leadership.

Headquartered in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, North Atlantic is a diverse and growing operator in retail gas and convenience, commercial, and wholesale fuels. A leader in the energy industry in the region for more than 30 years, its group of companies, NARL Marketing LP, North Sun Energy, NARL Logistics LP, Canadian Maritime Agency Ltd. (CMAL), and Terra Velo Solutions (TVS), collectively manage a robust energy and logistics network across Atlantic Canada and beyond. The organization supplies customers with gasoline, diesel, marine fuel, heating oil, and jet fuel, and supplies approximately 60% of Newfoundland and Labrador's fuel demand. North Atlantic maintains approximately 32% retail fuel market share in Newfoundland and Labrador and approximately 20% retail market share across NL, NS, and PEI.

The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the President is responsible for the overall strategic, commercial, and financial performance of North Atlantic Marketing, North Sun Energy, NARL Logistics, TVS, and CMAL. The President also oversees shared services as required to support enterprise-wide alignment and performance.
The President owns profit and loss results, capital expenditures, market success, customer growth strategy, and brand positioning. Working closely with the leadership team, the successful candidate will translate North Atlantic's corporate strategy into actionable business plans that drive revenue growth, profitability, customer acquisition, market expansion, and long-term competitive advantage across commercial, marine, and aviation fuel markets.

- Strategic & Business Leadership: Lead the overall success of North Atlantic Marketing by translating corporate vision and strategic priorities into clear business strategies that drive sustainable growth, profitability, market leadership, and long-term value creation.
- Profit & Loss Accountability: Assume full accountability for financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, performance measurement, and disciplined resource allocation.
- Commercial Growth & Client Acquisition: Drive customer acquisition, retention, and expansion efforts while leading commercial strategy, business development initiatives, strategic partnerships, and significant commercial negotiations.
- Stakeholder & Market Leadership: Represent the organization externally with customers, suppliers, industry partners, government stakeholders, community organizations, and industry associations while monitoring regulatory developments and market trends.
- Executive Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness: Provide leadership to the senior management team, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, align activities across North Atlantic entities, and build organizational capability through talent development and succession planning.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
- MBA, executive leadership education from a recognized institution, or professional designation such as CPA, CFA, ICD.D, P.Eng., or another relevant business or industry designation is considered an asset.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant senior executive or business unit leadership experience with direct profit and loss accountability.
- Demonstrated experience leading a business, division, or major commercial function, including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, performance management, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of commercial strategy, business development, client relationship management, strategic partnerships, customer acquisition, and market development.
- Experience within the petroleum, energy, transportation, logistics, marine, aviation, industrial services, or related sectors is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian fuel industry regulations, policy developments, and industry associations, including the Canadian Fuels Association, would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong strategic, commercial, financial, and operational leadership capabilities with proven experience driving performance and growth.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, customer focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
