The Kings Regional Service Commission (KRSC) serves a diverse and growing region in Southern New Brunswick. Bringing together the municipalities of Butternut Valley, Sussex, Valley Waters, and the Kings Rural District, the Commission provides regional leadership, coordinated planning and essential shared services that strengthen community well‑being and support sustainable development across the region.
As a central regional hub, KRSC oversees key functions including land‑use planning and building services, economic and community development, tourism promotion, solid‑waste management, transportation, and public safety collaboration. Operating across varied rural and small‑urban communities, the Commission serves as the backbone that connects partners, drives efficiencies, and advances regional priorities while respecting local identity and interests.
The Commission is now seeking its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), a strategic, relationship‑focused leader who will guide KRSC through an important period of renewed collaboration, clearer mandate alignment, and long‑term regional planning.

- Leading the organization through the development and implementation of a refreshed regional strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the unique needs of municipalities, rural districts, and provincial partners.
- Managing complex service budgets, maintaining financial stewardship and ensuring transparent, well‑informed decision‑making for the Board.
- Overseeing day‑to‑day operations across a lean, multi‑service team, supporting clarity, accountability, and dependable delivery of mandated services.
- Acting as a key convener and relationship‑builder, fostering productive relationships with mayors, councils, rural leaders, provincial officials, and community partners.
- Advancing regional initiatives in solid waste system improvements, community development, rural engagement, economic development, transportation planning, and tourism.
- Representing KRSC externally, including collaboration with provincial departments and peer RSCs to advance shared priorities.
- Supporting strong governance practices, ensuring Board members have the information, analysis, and advice needed to make strategic, transparent decisions.
As the ideal candidate, you are a strategic, steady, and forward‑thinking leader with experience operating in complex, multi‑partner, publicly governed environments including collaboration with community‑based and non‑profit organizations. You bring:
- Experience managing operations and complex budgets, ideally in municipal, public‑sector, non‑profit, or regional service environments.
- A strong technical foundation enabling oversight of diverse service areas such as planning, economic and community development, tourism, transportation, and solid waste management.
- Comfort navigating legislative frameworks, ensuring compliance while advancing practical, region‑focused service delivery.
- Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated success facilitating multi‑partner dialogue, resolving conflict, and building trust across diverse viewpoints.
- Strong political and governance acumen, including experience supporting or working with Boards.
- A calm, mature, and composed leadership style, grounded in integrity, accountability, and public‑service values.
- Commitment to regional collaboration, rural engagement, and advancing shared priorities across distinct communities.
- Professional qualifications as a Registered Professional Planner or Chartered Professional Accountant would be an asset.
