What does this role entail?

Reporting to the Vice President, Regulatory and collaborating with cross-functional, departments the Director, Legal & Contracts leads the delivery of in-house legal and contract management services across the organization. This role plays a critical part in enabling business objectives through the development, negotiation, and execution of commercial agreements, while also providing strategic legal guidance across a broad range of matters. You will serve as a trusted business partner, ensuring contracts and legal frameworks effectively support operational success, risk management, and Eastlink’s long-term growth.

As the ideal candidate you:
  • Bring at least five years of progressive experience in commercial or in-house legal environments, with a proven track record of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, agreements, and vendor arrangements.
  • Excel as a communicator and negotiator, with strong written and oral skills that enable you to translate complex legal issues into clear, business-focused advice.
  • Are a trusted advisor and influencer, building credibility with senior leaders and external partners while providing clear, actionable guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Thrive both independently and collaboratively, taking full ownership of projects from inception through execution.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, detail-oriented, and agile mindset, anticipating challenges, identifying innovative solutions, and consistently exceeding objectives in support of organizational priorities.
  • Bring experience with technology-related commercial transactions (considered an asset).
