NSP is seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Efficiency to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive strategy that enhances operational performance and effectiveness across the organization. This newly created, high-impact role will drive meaningful, measurable improvements in organizational effectiveness, cost optimization and operational excellence. 

What does this role entail?

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, People, Communications & Enterprise Efficiency, the Senior Director will develop and implement an enterprise-wide efficiency strategy to enhance NSP’s agility, responsiveness, productivity and effectiveness. This role leads a growing, high-performing team responsible for identifying and delivering cross-functional initiatives, and works closely with senior executives and functional experts across the organization to simplify, standardize, and modernize how work gets done, ensuring processes, systems, and structures enable NSP’s strategic goals and drive lasting impact for the business, its people, and Nova Scotia’s clean energy future.

This is an in-office role based at NSP’s head office in Halifax, NS. 

As the ideal candidate, you:

  • Bring senior leadership experience driving enterprise-wide efficiency, operational excellence, and organizational transformation in large, complex organizations.
  • Have a background in industrial engineering or continuous improvement with proven experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior leaders in technically sophisticated environments.
  • Have a strong track record of executing high-impact initiatives that improve performance, transform organizational culture and help achieve long-term strategic goals.  
  • Have proven experience leading cross-functional teams, influencing senior leaders, and aligning people, processes, and culture to strengthen collaboration and accountability.
  • Have experience using OCM practices to drive large/complex change to longstanding work processes.
  • Have experience with both high risk and low risk initiatives and how to position both types of initiatives for success.
  • Have successfully guided organizations through operational and cultural transformation, delivering measurable results in complex environments.
  • Bring strong command of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and/or Six Sigma. Exposure to large, regulated industries is considered an asset.
