KBRS is pleased to have assisted St. Thomas University with the appointment of their first female president, Dawn Russell. Dawn is an alumna of the university and has maintained a deep connection to the institution since her days as a student.

A native of Chatham Head, New Brunswick, Dawn earned her bachelor of arts from St.Thomas University and a bachelor of laws from Dalhousie Law School. She subsequently earned a masters degree in international law from Cambridge University. In addition to being a law professor, she was dean of the Dalhousie Law School for ten years, and has been an associate lawyer with Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales.

“Dawn is a scholar, an academic leader, and a relationship builder. Her passion for liberal arts education and understanding of our history, as well as her proven ability to articulate and implement a strategic vision promise great things for St. Thomas,” says Andrea Seymour, chair of the board of governors.

Please join us in congratulating Dawn and welcoming her to St. Thomas University.
