As Ocean Capital continues to invest in its people, operations, and long-term growth, the organization seeks an experienced Operations Manager & Chief Pilot to lead its corporate aviation function.
What does this role entail?
- Reporting to the President of Ocean Capital, responsibility for flight operations and departmental management, with full accountability for safety, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and service delivery.
- Oversight of all aspects of the corporate aviation function, including crew management, safety programs, scheduling, and operational planning, while serving as Pilot-in-Command. You will ensure adherence to CARs and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and service excellence.
- Leading a close-knit team of 5 pilots, fostering culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong relationships internally along with regulators and service partners.
- Contributing strategically to the future of the aviation department, including succession planning, talent development, and long-term operational enhancements.
- Residency in Saint John, New Brunswick or surrounding area required.
- Hold a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with minimum 4,000 hours total flying time and minimum 1,000 hours multi-engine turbine PIC experience.
- Bring extensive experience in corporate or commercial aviation, with a proven track record of hands—on operational leadership and flight excellence.
- Are an effective and trusted leader, known for creating a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
- Exhibit exceptional judgment and professionalism, with the ability to manage confidential matters and operate in a high-trust environment.
- Are adaptable and resilient, able to manage evolving priorities and dynamic scheduling demands while maintaining focus and composure.
- Bring a service-oriented mindset, delivering a highly personalized and detail-oriented experience in a corporate aviation environment.
- Value long term, trusting relationships and collaboration.
- Previous Chief Pilot or management experience considered a strong asset.
