Youthdale Treatment Centres (YTC) is a non-profit, charitable organization based in Toronto that has been providing compassionate, professional, and collaborative care to children, youth, emerging adults, and families for over 50 years. Accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada, Youthdale serves approximately 3,500 clients each year through a comprehensive range of services, including crisis intervention, residential treatment, secure treatment, day treatment, outpatient services, and community-based supports.

As an organization dedicated to advancing mental health equity, Youthdale collaborates closely with hospitals, schools, community agencies, and government partners to ensure children, youth, and their families have access to the highest quality of care.

Youthdale is currently seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization through its next phase of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be responsible for the overall management of Youthdale, in alignment with the strategy, goals, policies, and bylaws established by the Board. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, visionary leader capable of balancing operational excellence with long-term system advocacy, ensuring that Youthdale continues to provide high-quality services and influence the future of children’s mental health in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic partnership development with the Board, building trusted networks and serving as a key advisor to advance organizational goals.
  • Foster cross-organizational collaboration and transparent communication to address complex challenges and drive collective impact.
  • Apply advanced influence and communication strategies to build consensus and drive sustainable, system-level change.
  • Navigate diverse stakeholder perspectives and systemic dynamics to align decisions with the organization’s mission.
  • Maintain focus and resilience in achieving ambitious goals through sound decision-making and strategic alignment with the Board.
  • Champion excellence and continuous improvement in care, service, and innovation through effective resource allocation.
  • Strengthen culture, talent, and structure to ensure long-term organizational capacity and leadership continuity.
  • Drive performance by setting clear expectations, addressing issues promptly, and holding leadership accountable for results.
  • Inspire engagement and alignment through a compelling vision and proactive leadership in response to emerging trends.
  • Align financial and strategic decisions with healthcare and economic trends to ensure sustainability and growth
 
  • Anticipate external shifts and partners with the Board to shape long-term strategies that deliver system-wide impact.
  • Build an inclusive, respectful culture by demonstrating empathy, cultural awareness, and insight into human behavior.
  • Model integrity, resilience, and humility, inspiring confidence and challenging norms to advance organizational goals.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a visionary and relationship-driven leader with a deep understanding of the mental health system for children and youth. They have a proven track record of successfully guiding complex organizations through change and growth while balancing strategic vision with operational excellence. As an experienced communicator and collaborator, they inspire confidence among staff, effectively engage with partners and funders, and represent the organization with credibility in the public sphere.

The candidate demonstrates strong governance and financial management skills, along with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing senior team. Above all, they embody a genuine commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring that Youthdale’s programs remain trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and focused on the strengths and needs of children, youth, and families.

Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in health administration, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive leadership within complex health, mental health, or social service organizations.
  • A strong track record in strategic planning, operations, and financial management.
  • Experience in working with and reporting to a voluntary Board of Directors.
  • Proven success in building strategic partnerships and influencing changes at the system level.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
