Shauna joined KBRS in 2014, originally in the Halifax office, and in 2020 she returned “home” to work in the   St. John’s office. Shauna has played a critical role in supporting the Executive Search practice, addressing the needs of public, private, and academic sector organizations across the country and internationally. She has played an integral role in completing hundreds of successful searches, gaining extensive experience in candidate research, outreach, assessment, and surpassing client expectations through her thoughtful, consultative style in facilitating the recruitment process. 

With a Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology (Industrial Organizational Psychology) from Saint Mary’s University, Shauna has extensively studied such topics as recruitment, employee engagement, and retention. She has conducted research on behalf of several health care organizations and received prominent awards including scholarships from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation. Shauna also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. 

Shauna is passionate about strengthening communities. She has volunteered extensively with community organizations on Boards of Directors in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador to support immediate and root causes of social issues faced by those in Atlantic Canada. She has also focused her community commitment on creating innovative professional development opportunities for  young and seasoned professionals, and newcomers to Canada. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for United Way Newfoundland and Labrador as well as with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Newfoundland and Labrador (CPHRNL) as Director of Membership.

Before joining KBRS, Shauna worked in a variety of roles including HR Consultant with a private practice, Research Technician with a publicly traded professional services firm, and Organizational Effectiveness and Health and Safety professional with a leading Canadian energy company.
