FYI: WorkSafeNB welcomes Perry J. Cheeks as CFO

KBRS is pleased to have assisted WorkSafeNB, a Crown corporation committed to promoting healthy and safe workplaces for New Brunswick’s workers and employers, in the appointment of Perry J. Cheeks, CPA, CMA as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective May 6, 2019.

Cheeks brings over two decades of progressive leadership experience, within large New Brunswick Crown corporations, to the role of CFO. Most recently, he was Director of Business Services with the Nuclear Division of the New Brunswick Power Corporation, where he was influential in improving the organization’s performance, including posting its best safety and production results in over a decade. Throughout his 19 years of experience with NB Power Corporation, Perry held various management roles in both finance and HR including developing and managing large capital project budgets, directing risk management programs, and leading a diverse range of successful teams.

As CFO, Cheeks will contribute to the overall strategic direction of WorkSafeNB by leading change and providing strategic financial advice and support to the Board of Directors, the CEO, and the Executive Leadership Team to inform decisions about how the organization will sustainably create value and nurture innovation into the future.

Cheeks holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University, a Certificate of Advanced Accounting from the University of New Brunswick, and a CPA, CMA designation.
