October 14, 2020 (St. John’s, NL) – JCL Investments Inc (formerly Johnson’s Construction Ltd.), a heavy civil construction company with over 40 years of experience in Newfoundland and Labrador, is pleased to welcome Laurie Skinner, FCPA, FCA as the organization’s new VP of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Laurie will join JCL’s team of professionals operating one of the largest heavy equipment fleets in Atlantic Canada. With locations in Corner Brook and St. John’s, and a large and diverse work force, JCL has been instrumental in building key infrastructure for Newfoundland and Labrador for many years.

Laurie’s career spans over 25 years in progressively senior leadership roles including experience within the aerospace and telecommunications industries, the government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and public accounting. She has over five years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer supporting a diversified group of 40 companies in a variety of industry sectors across Canada and the United States.

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She was also named a Fellow of CPA (FCPA) Newfoundland and Labrador in 2017. This prestigious honorary designation is awarded to CPAs who, through their outstanding achievements including community leadership, bring distinction to the accounting profession and serve as a role model to others.
