Director of Finance and Administration, Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists

 

The Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists (NSCP) is the regulatory body for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in Nova Scotia and the pharmacies in which they practice. The NSCP’s legislated mandate is to ensure the public receives optimal care from the profession, with a sole focus to serve the interest of the health and well-being of the public.

 

This is a significant time in the history of both healthcare and health profession regulation, and it is an exciting privilege to be part of the critical positioning of pharmacy within the healthcare system.

 

As a key leader in health system transformation, the NSCP is providing bold leadership in pharmacy governance, ensuring the regulatory framework in Nova Scotia supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in practicing to the fullest scope of their knowledge and skills so that the public receives optimal pharmacy care.

 

As an active member of the NS Regulated Health Professions Network, the NSCP is also working to support foundational regulatory reform that is underway, which is aimed at upholding the public's confidence in health profession regulation and the quality and safety of healthcare they receive.

 

What Does This Role Entail?

 

Reporting directly to the CEO and Registrar, the Director of Finance and Administration will be a key member of the senior leadership team, overseeing the finance, human resources, information technology, and administrative functions of the organization. The Director will work to ensure financial strength, assess and manage risk, facilitate the integration of new technologies and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies. The Director will also provide strong leadership and mentorship to team members and ensure staff are engaged and aligned with the vision and values of the NSCP. As a Director at the NSCP, you will be part of a senior leadership team that is leading critical change and transformation in the healthcare system.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

 

As the ideal candidate you are a solid operational manager and leader, with a designation in accounting, who understands how to enable a board governed organization to excel through sound financial, technical, and systems management. People know you as a financial expert who is energized by the potential of digital opportunities and solutions. You have a reputation for getting things done, a natural aptitude for identifying opportunities to innovate and applying creative problem solving and a proven track record of putting ideas into practice. Your exceptional interpersonal skills, proven aptitude for leading projects and change initiatives, ability to lead and collaborate effectively with a team, and consistent pursuit of excellence, are what will allow you to excel in this important role.
