With eight manufacturing facilities located across North America and a workforce of 1000 employees, CKF Inc., a member of the Scotia Investments Family of Companies, has been manufacturing high-quality food services, disposable tableware and food packaging products since 1933. CKF has a strong presence through four Canadian and two American plants that manufacture over 1,000 different SKUs distributed across the globe and specializes in the production of foam, plastic and molded pulp products including disposable tableware, egg cartons, four-cup carriers, display containers, molded fibre protective packaging, and a wide variety of other products for the food services industry. They proudly manufacture Royal Chinet, Canada’s leading brand in retail disposable tableware, renowned for its eco-friendly, recyclable, and compostable products.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Development, the Assistant Vice President of Finance (AVP, Finance) will play a critical role in driving financial performance and providing strategic insights to support CKF’s growth and profitability. This is a new role created as a part of a succession planning initiative aimed at bolstering leadership capabilities within CKF and the SIL Family of Companies corporately. The AVP will work closely with CKF’s VP Finance and team, as well as the new SIL corporate CFO. This is an onsite position based in Hantsport, Nova Scotia with occasional travel required to Ontario, British Columbia, Texas and Ohio.
As the ideal candidate you:
- Have a successful track record as a senior financial leader within a manufacturing environment;
- Have a post-secondary degree and a CPA designation;
- Have superior communication and interpersonal skills and are known to devote significant time to your team;
- Are excited to lean into the details of operations to find ways to support the team in modernizing and improving processes;
- Are a hands-on leader with an inspiring and inclusive style and low ego.
