Director of Finance


STELIA North America, headquartered in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia with an additional facility in Mirabel, Quebec, specializes in advanced manufacturing as well as design, development and production of fibre reinforced composite products for the North American and European aeronautic, space and defence industries. The Lunenburg facility consists of 150,000 sft (14,000 m2) dedicated to operations and administration. With over 25 years of experience, this branch has a particularly strong focus on commercial aircrafts with products that include aircraft structural components and control surfaces. Its vertical integration is offering a wide range of services from conceptual design, material testing and inspection of the final product. STELIA North America employs approximately 220 non-unionized employees.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Stelia North America, and in collaboration with the finance team of Airbus Atlantic, the Director of Finance has oversight of all financial functions including reporting, budgeting, internal controls and forecasting. Working collaboratively with the senior management and operations teams, and closely with the finance team at Airbus Atlantic, you will provide reliable advice, accurate analysis, and good judgment while making sound recommendations upon which significant business decisions can be made. You will ensure that effective accounting policies, processes, systems and standards are in place which anticipate the evolving needs of the business; oversee margin analysis, data management and annual audits; maintain consistent communication with shareholders, and lead team building to foster continuous improvement and learning through coaching, mentoring and encouraging input. A hands-on financial expert, the Director of Finance will help to ensure STELIA North America has the right structure, the right people, the right information, and the confidence and capabilities to achieve its strategic objectives while safeguarding the company’s assets and financial stability.

The ideal candidate has an accounting designation and post-secondary degree, along with ten or more years of senior financial leadership experience in a capital-intensive business.   With superior interpersonal and communication skills, you can communicate financial analytics in a clear and concise manner and consistently provide a current and accurate financial perspective to the senior leadership team.   You instinctively look for process improvements, efficiencies and other strategies to improve organizational effectiveness; exceptionally adaptive and able to pivot as priorities and deliverables evolve. Integrity is key to everything you do.
