techNL (formerly NATI) is the not-for-profit industry association responsible for advancing technology and innovation in Newfoundland and Labrador. techNL’s mission is to help grow and support the technology industry, and to support our member companies with the resources and advocacy needed to help them be successful. In 2019, our goal was to double the size of the sector by 2025 and we are well on our way to realizing that ambition. techNL provides leadership to the technology sector through research, funding programs, networking opportunities, education, promotion, trade initiatives and advocacy activities. We work to connect key players in the industry through regular industry communications by supporting the development and growth of local technology companies to help tell their stories, as well as assisting in identification, engagement and development of export opportunities. This means providing strong representation on key challenges and issues impacting our members.

We are currently seeking our next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO provides executive leadership and management for the organization’s strategic plan, operations and administration, programs and services and plays a vital role in assuring our success. As a strategic and collaborative leader, the CEO is tasked with forging lasting relationships with and amongst members of the technology industry. Supported by a strong senior management team, the CEO will focus their attention on growth of the organization’s memberships, diversification and growth of revenues, growth of the sector, support for members’ success, advocacy and the sustainable development of Newfoundland and Labrador’s digital economy. Strengthening and optimizing operations, the CEO is responsible for attaining the goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors, within its established mandate, policies, budget and to ensure future sustainability of the organization.

As the ideal candidate, you have leadership experience, not-for-profit experience, demonstrated business success and have a passion for the technology sector in Newfoundland and Labrador. Proactive and energetic, you anticipate and understand trends, problems and opportunities and successfully interpret them for the organization’s effectiveness. Your demonstrated dynamism, passion and ability to inspire, as well as your superior stakeholder and relationship building expertise, will contribute to guiding the success of techNL’s vision, strategy and objectives. With a growth minded vision, you are experienced in working with Boards, have a high-level understanding of financial statements, are able to manage many complex tasks and projects simultaneously, and your excellent communication skills are evident through achieved results. Your prepared and credible demeanor allows you to be confident interacting with media, including radio and television forums, as well as internal and culturally diverse stakeholders.
