Chief Executive Officer

A brand-new organization many years in the making, Destination Moncton-Dieppe is an independent, industry-driven, destination marketing body backed by the Greater Moncton Hotel Association. Funded by a levy on hotel rooms, this third-party destination marketing organization will be the promotional arm driving tourism, event visitors, and group travel to the region. Those who live in and visit the region know its incredible potential as a destination of choice for tourists and corporate travelers, as well as for the hosting of corporate events and trade shows.

As the inaugural employee of this brand-new organization, you will start as a party of one and roll up your sleeves to grow the organization in funding, size, scope and results as you work to creatively increase the number of ‘heads in beds’ in the region of Moncton-Dieppe.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be a careful and planned financial steward, using accumulated funds from the hotel levy to drive more visitors to the region, thus increasing the organization’s budget. You will be politically savvy, building relationships with genuine credibility with elected officials, business owners, service providers, event organizers and community partners in both official languages. Reporting to the board of directors, you set the vision and direction of the organization, while operationalizing a multi-pronged promotional drive of visitors to the region. The CEO will be responsible for leading branding initiatives, the development of the organization’s first website, and the public launch of the organization.

As the ideal candidate for this exciting new venture, you are passionate about driving economic growth to our beautiful region and are convinced that Moncton-Dieppe holds significant untapped potential. You bring significant marketing and promotional experience in a B2C environment, preferably within an economic development or tourism mandate.

As the CEO you bring exposure to large-scale national and international events and a growth mindset full of perspective of how we can fulfill our mission in a creative way to be successful, particularly as the region emerges from the pandemic. You understand how the event planning world works and know how to connect with those who can help bring events, expertise, resources, and public interest to the region. You have the confidence to pick up the phone and highlight the reasons Moncton-Dieppe is an attractive destination for a multitude of events and visitors.
