Chief Financial Officer, Smith Stockley Ltd.

Smith Stockley Ltd. is an industrial wholesale plumbing, heating, and industrial supply shop that provides excellent service to customers in Newfoundland and Labrador. Boasting over 60 years of proud experience operating out of their headquarters in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Smith Stockley Ltd. team takes pride in supplying contractors and tradespeople. Over the years they have developed a vast understanding of the complexities and various challenges faced with bringing in supplies to an island-based location, complemented by many years of experience and a wealth of hard-earned knowledge.

Smith Stockley Ltd. has optimized decades of success and experience in Newfoundland and Labrador, and they are currently searching for a trusted Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”).

Reporting to the General Manager, the CFO will play an important role in the leadership of the overall business and the execution of its operations. On a day-to-day basis, this may mean being hands on in the details or working with the executive team on strategy. As an integral member of the Smith Stockley Ltd. leadership team, you will have specific responsibility for the oversight of corporate finance, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, contracts and stakeholder management, financial planning, internal controls, treasury, and tax planning. You will also provide leadership to the Human Resources and Information Technology areas. Focused on continuing to optimize processes, you will ensure that Smith Stockley Ltd. has the financial structure and capability to achieve the business plan.

You have a successful track record and expertise in identifying and driving value in an organization, as well as a reputation for being a team player. You have no hesitation switching between tactical and strategic focus and enthusiastically mentoring the team through your hands-on approach. You communicate financial information in a clear and concise manner, and you are highly capable with a strong interest in overall business operations. You are a big-picture thinker who is comfortable and effective working both at the strategic and tactical level. Your post-secondary education in finance or accounting is combined with senior financial leadership experience, or an equivalent education and experience mix.
