Now, Cox & Palmer is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a key leadership role in its St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador office in its continued pursuit of excellence in client service and steady firm growth.

Reporting to the Management Committee of the St. John’s office and working closely with the Managing Partner, the COO will be responsible for overseeing the administration, finance, marketing, human resources, technology, facilities, and all other operations of the Newfoundland & Labrador office. With strong leadership skills, the COO will steward change, innovation, and effective communications. You will work collaboratively to develop and implement action plans which detail the strategic goals and objectives of the firm, as well as marketing strategies, operating budgets, cost controls, performance measurements, administrative and human resources policies, risk management policies, priorities, and procedures. The COO will consistently anticipate and plan for the firm’s evolving needs and ensure that an effective and efficient organizational structure is in place. You will guide, coach, and develop the operations management and support teams and add exceptional people as required.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced, cross-functional leader in both business and operations with effective decision-making ability and a big-picture approach to how decisions impact all aspects of the firm. You have deep experience supporting the core business and its objectives with forward-thinking and efficient operational practices. You understand how to enable a business to thrive through sound management. You foster operational effectiveness as a facilitative leader who drives action and initiative through collaboration and teamwork. With a proven reputation as a business advisor with at least 10 years of experience delivering results, you have the depth, drive, integrity, and the energy to serve a thriving partnership and make it even better.
