Mount Allison University (Mount Allison) acknowledges, honors, and respects that the land named Sackville, NB is part of the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people who are the historic inhabitants, custodians, and dwellers on the land where the university is built and confirms its commitment to strengthening relationships with all Indigenous people.
Founded in 1839 in the liberal arts tradition, Mount Allison University’s goal is to be one of North America’s best undergraduate universities by providing a supportive, experiential, student-focused approach to teaching and research. The University’s long history of liberal arts education supports a range of research, creative, and professional activities within its facilities. Mount Allison prides itself as a small undergraduate university, maintaining a low student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1 and offers a special relationship between research and teaching, and a unique context for collaboration and partnerships across disciplines.
The Mount Allison University Libraries and Archives is comprised of the Ralph Pickard (RP) Bell Library, the Alfred Whitehead Music Library, and the University Archives. Together, the Libraries and Archives offer research instruction, resources, collections and services designed to support the curriculum and meet the scholarly requirements of faculty members and students.
