Manager, Compliance, Risk and Regulatory Affairs

The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation (NSGC) is responsible for the business of gaming in Nova Scotia. It is a Crown corporation governed by the provincial Gaming Control Act and is charged with leading an economically sustainable and socially responsible gaming industry for the benefit of Nova Scotians and their communities. NSGC is recognized as a world leader in responsible gambling with innovative programs and projects designed to help prevent problems through education and awareness.

Reporting to the Director, Gaming Operations, the Manager, Compliance, Risk and Regulatory Affairs provides support to the NSGC leadership with respect to the identification, reporting and management of risk, compliance management including the maintenance or enhancement of existing compliance processes, standards, performance metrics, and other regulatory matters. The Manager is also responsible for supporting the development of legal documents and contracts, monitoring legislative changes that may affect NSGC and its stakeholders and will inform and assist management on relevant legal issues. The Manager will be involved in procurement processes as well as policy development and implementation on a range of issues including report preparation and submissions to government.

As the ideal candidate, you have an undergraduate degree in business or law, and a minimum of five years of experience in a compliance role. You are well versed in compliance monitoring and reporting and are comfortable and confident working and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. You have a great depth of expertise in interpreting legal and regulatory requirements in a regulated environment and are highly capable of drafting and supporting the negotiation of contracts and agreements. Clear and polished in both your verbal and written communications, you have exceptional interpersonal skills and can build strong working relationships within and outside the organization. You have an aptitude for effective project management and excel at problem solving. Gaming industry knowledge would be an asset.
