Director of Business Services

Genoa is seeking senior leaders who are motivated by growth and know what it takes to scale up. Reporting to the Chief Capability Officer, and working collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Business Services will be accountable for optimizing the capabilities of Genoa’s team in meeting or exceeding customer requirements through the effective management of all operational and client support systems including quality and meeting ISO requirements, security, administration, and planning. You will help drive success by partnering with key team leaders across the organization in developing and implementing short-and-long-term strategies and targets for the overall business direction, operational efficiency, quality standards, client service and the prudent allocation and management of resources. You will lead annual operations planning, audit and risk management, and business continuity planning, and have oversight of functional areas such as facilities management, purchasing, security clearances, and travel. You will consistently monitor all business systems to identify opportunities for improvement and advancement, effectively balance current operational requirements with long-term strategic objectives, and draw upon your expertise and successful track record to advise on the best approaches for ensuring operational excellence and superior client service.

As the ideal candidate, you have a post-secondary degree and 10 plus years of experience as a senior business services leader within a technical industry and growth-oriented private business, and your experience includes a focus on quality management. You intrinsically understand the interconnection of various business systems and the importance of their continuous improvement and advancement. You have deep understanding of key growth drivers and how to scale the business in a timely and efficient manner and you are a trusted leader and advisor on the best approaches to creating efficient business systems and operational excellence; process-driven with the ability to analyze complex issues and translate into clear and concise reports and action plans that have flexibility to scale; you have a visible management style and a reputation for integrity and developing a collegial culture within your team; you have natural and superior interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to create seamless working relationships across an organization; detail-oriented with excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. You have a genuine commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the workplace and are dedicated to the mission and values of the organization. Experience within an engineering services, construction/ construction support environment would be an asset but is not essential.
