Canadian Mental Health Association Newfoundland and Labrador Division (CMHA-NL) is a provincial division of CMHA, the nationwide leader and champion for mental health. Their mission is to facilitate access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness.
CMHA-NL is seeking a dynamic individual to take on the responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will be change orientated and devoted to transformation of community-based service systems and provincial organizations in the mental health field in Newfoundland and Labrador.
As the ideal CEO, you are a skilled organizational leader who is highly strategic, business-minded, and financially astute. You have well-developed advocacy and policy development skills, and, throughout your career, have led system change, championed team-based cultures, and unified and engaged staff at all levels. You can strategically prioritize organizational goals and provide a high-level of corporate focus. Your authenticity, collaborative style, diplomacy, and integrity have allowed you to build meaningful partnerships and relationships. Having participated on several Boards and/or committees, you appreciate the value and impact that sound governance and a healthy Board/staff partnership can afford an organization.
Your professional profile consists of a university degree in a relevant field, combined with more than five years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in both the non-governmental and government sectors. Experience with volunteer boards and governance models is essential. Highly developed presentations skills and public presence in leadership roles is vital. Experience in the health system or mental health and addictions are definite assets.
