The Shaw Group has many major master plan communities underway or awaiting approval, many multi dwelling residential units to be built over the next decade, 13 manufacturing facilities mostly serving the construction industry, and five retail brick stores.

The Shaw Group is currently seeking a Financial Controller for its real estate division who will report to the Vice-President, Finance, and work closely with the Shaw Group CFO, providing financial and analytical support to the management team of the division. You will perform a variety of financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, performing research and analysis, preparing reports, as well as developing and maintaining world class accounting policies and procedures to support growth. You will also be responsible for providing financial guidance and cost control support to operational teams in both the land development and construction business lines and will help to build consistent reporting systems across the division.

The ideal candidate has a professional accounting designation (CPA) and a post-secondary degree, combined with 5 plus years of financial leadership experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably within a real estate environment. You have a successful track record and expertise in helping to maintain positive revenue and financial growth by formulating sound financing strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support our fast-growing business. You foster progressive change by consistently looking for process improvements and other strategies to improve the bottom line. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an inspiring style for leading a team; the ability to communicate financial analytics in a clear and concise manner and you can build seamless working relationships across an organization in order to provide a current and accurate financial perspective to the senior leadership team.
