New Brunswick

Regional Vice President, Atlantic Region

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) works to protect our country’s most precious natural places. Proudly Canadian, they empower people to safeguard the lands and waters that sustain life. KBRS has partnered with NCC in the recruitment of their next Regional Vice President, Atlantic Region.

NCC is Canada's leading national land conservation organization. A private, non-profit organization, NCC partners with individuals, corporations, foundations, Indigenous communities and other non-profit organizations and governments at all levels to protect our most important natural treasures — the natural areas that sustain Canada’s plants and wildlife. NCC secures properties (through donation, purchase, conservation agreement and the relinquishment of other legal interests in land) and manage them for the long term.

Reporting to the Vice President Regional Operations, as the Regional Vice President, Atlantic Region you will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and guidance for the Atlantic Canadian staff and operational activities. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills to communicate a compelling vision that generates excitement, enthusiasm and commitment to NCC’s mission. You will ensure NCC in Atlantic Canada has sustained growth by raising the profile of NCC with major donors, partners and within the conservation community. You will capably steward the organization’s budget and you will lead and engage a team of approximately 30 employees while building and strengthening the organization’s relationships with various stakeholders including regulatory bodies, government, other agencies, community organizations, volunteers, donors, and supporters. Through the development and strengthening of key local, regional, and national relationships, you will ensure the ongoing sustainability and success in achieving strategic priorities. You will serve as a passionate and compelling ambassador for NCC and you will ensure the organization has a strong presence and voice in the local community and beyond.

As the ideal candidate, you are a proven senior leader and manager and you bring vision, managerial acumen, and exceptional communication and relationship building skills. You are an exceptional leader of people and have a proven track record of effectively supporting, inspiring and engaging the members of your team. Internally and externally, you are able to communicate with genuine charisma a compelling vision that generates excitement. You have a strong personal desire and aptitude for building strategic relationships that drive fundraising results. You are a superb communicator and are able to listen and engage effectively, articulate complex issues clearly and simply, and make a compelling case for support with various stakeholders including philanthropists, volunteers, and government. Collaborative and consultative, you have a natural ability to bring these audiences together and above all, you have a passion for the important conservation mission of NCC.
