Chief Operating Officer

Reporting to the Partner Group, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is accountable for developing and implementing innovative business initiatives and executing the strategic and operational priorities set by the partners. The COO’s key priorities include effective oversight of business operations, innovation, and team engagement. The COO will ensure effective and efficient systems are in place for the firm’s clients and people; oversee and guide the CFO on all aspects of financial management; ensure the Partner Group is consistently kept up to date on the progress toward established goals, busines objectives, and matters such as risk management, statutory and regulatory compliance, business development opportunities, market conditions and emerging trends within the accounting industry.

As the ideal candidate, you have ten or more years of senior leadership experience within a highly professional environment, superior communication and interpersonal skills, and an innate client service orientation. You have a leadership style that is approachable and inclusive. You can inspire internal teams to reach new heights of creative thinking, dedication, and effectiveness; a passion for innovation and driving projects forward from idea to fruition; a change agent with a well-earned reputation for implementing action plans which take advantage of opportunities for business growth and diversification; astute and savvy with a strong detail orientation, as well as excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.

You have a degree in Business, Finance or a related field, as well as the skills, experience, and qualities to help enhance Baker Tilly’s reputation and elevate the firm’s profile as one of the leading-edge accounting firms in the market. A CPA designation or experience in a professional firm would be considered an asset.
