WorkSafeNB is a Crown corporation committed to promoting healthy and safe workplaces for New Brunswick’s workers and employers. While the priority is preventing workplace injuries and occupational disease, WorkSafeNB provides comprehensive rehabilitation, return to work services, and fair compensation benefits when these do occur. We are expanding our legal department with a new position – an Associate General Counsel – as part of our strategy to continue to provide the guidance, leadership, and sound legal advice necessary to maintain WorkSafeNB’s culture of excellence and caring.
At the direction of the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel provides a full range of legal services to WorkSafeNB. This includes advice and opinions on corporate and commercial law, health and safety law, regulatory compliance, and the assessment and mitigation of risk. This role serves as the second-in-command to the General Counsel and is responsible for key leadership functions, including the continued development of attorneys and staff within the legal, privacy, decision review office, and policy departments. Leadership, mentorship, coaching, and development experience, along with a depth of corporate and commercial legal experience, is key to success in this role.
If you are a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, with a passion for continuous improvement and finding practical business solutions to complex challenges, WorkSafeNB offers you an opportunity to make a substantial impact on a change-ready organization, while supporting a new and energized leadership team. Bilingualism (strong written and spoken English and French) is a definite asset.
WorkSafeNB will provide support in its recruitment processes to applicants with disabilities, including accommodation that takes into account an applicant’s accessibility needs. If you require accommodation in order to participate as a candidate in the recruitment process, please contact email@example.com or communicate your needs to the recruitment professional named in the job description.
