Tennis Nova Scotia will be the operator of the new $11 million-dollar Atlantic Tennis Centre (ATC) under construction in Bedford. The ATC, which is in the final stages of completion, is a state-of-the-art building that will be one of Canada’s top tennis facilities.

Tennis Nova Scotia is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic and operational plans for growing the sport of tennis in Nova Scotia, as well as leading the strategy to successfully integrate the Atlantic Tennis Center into the overall operations of TNS. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead efforts for developing player quality, increasing participation in events and improving tennis facilities across Nova Scotia. The CEO will develop seamless working relationships with all key stakeholders such as volunteers, financial donors and sponsors, community groups, provincial tennis bodies across the region and the country, suppliers and representatives from all levels of government. The CEO will lead the mandate to provide opportunities for players at all levels and socio-economic backgrounds to join, learn, play, and compete and will actively support and model the organization’s core values of integrity, inclusiveness, customer service, and open communications.

As the ideal candidate, you are first and foremost a very strong general leader. You know what it takes to run a business and to manage to financial success while adhering to an organization’s goals and vision. You have a post-secondary degree and at least five years of senior leadership responsibility; having experience in facilities management and an interest in tennis are assets. You have superb communication and interpersonal skills and an innate client service orientation. You are a strategic thinker with a solid track record of success in setting, managing and achieving operational and business objectives; proficient in managing business functions such as finance, corporate services, human resources, sales and marketing, administration and IT; a natural ability to manage stakeholder relationships and to influence, persuade and sell; a strong understanding of governance and experience working with Boards. You can develop and communicate a vision, management philosophy and sound business strategy, deliver both operationally and fiscally and implement procedures and strategic benchmarks which will help the organization make its short- and long-term objectives a reality.
