There is no other place quite like this place.

Since 1962, Prescott Group has supported adults with an intellectual challenge. Located in the North End of Halifax, Prescott, a non-profit organization, provides client services, employment services, personal development services and life skills. Prescott manages four social enterprises: Prescott Bakery (formerly Fireside Kitchen), Prescott Custom Bags (formerly Atlantic Bag Manufacturers), Prescott Mailing Services and Prescott Online Auction. Clients also have opportunities to work in the community with dedicated job coaches and other supports through Prescott Employment Services. Prescott is client-focused and dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment in the community where we live and thrive.

Now, Prescott is seeking an outstanding Executive Director to provide strategic and operational leadership to staff and volunteers in carrying out the organization’s mission and work with the Board of Directors to chart the course for Prescott’s future.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, as Executive Director you will inspire, engage, empower and provide sound operational management and strategic direction to a talented and passionate team. You will work closely with Prescott’s volunteer Board to set and enhance the policies, programs, and strategies that guide the organization. You will champion annual fund development activities and capital campaign initiatives to raise funds that support important organizational initiatives. You will develop a facilities strategy and provide infrastructure recommendations to the Board to ensure Prescott operations are housed in the best space needed to achieve its strategic goals. Always leading with Prescott’s mission at the forefront of your mind, you will foster an environment of respect, inclusion, positivity and collaboration among all stakeholders of the organization.

As the ideal candidate, you are an exceptional and positive leader with the proven ability to effectively lead day-to- day operations while always ensuring the organization is always improving and evolving in continuous pursuit of its long-term goals. You bring strong business and financial acumen and are highly comfortable managing the budgets, programs, facilities, and general operations of an organization. And, when it comes to building effective working relationships, you are a natural. Your well-developed interpersonal and communications skills have allowed you to build strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including donors, volunteers, community partners and government officials alike. Strategic, innovative, collaborative, and results-oriented are words that describe your leadership well.

Most importantly, you believe wholeheartedly in the mission of Prescott to enhance the independence of adults with an intellectual challenge through the development of skills and participation in social enterprise, personal development and employment.
