Jeff Forbes, Vice President with Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette, is keenly committed to client success. As Managing Partner of the Executive Search practice, Jeff is primarily responsible for leading searches for Executive leadership, senior management and accounting/finance professionals. He has successfully completed hundreds of searches for a wide spectrum of public and private organizations.
From regional start-ups to multimillion-dollar organizations, Jeff has consistently recruited some of Atlantic Canada’s leading talent over the past 14 years. His extensive knowledge of the industry, region and labour market, and his ability to match skills with requirements, has earned Jeff a highly loyal and impressive list of clients. They continue to look to him for the expertise they need to stay competitive.
Long active in the community, Jeff has been involved in several professional and charitable initiatives and organizations. His longstanding involvement with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce continues as the Immediate Past Chair for the Board of Directors, as a member of the Advocacy and Stakeholder committee and a member of the judging panel for the Halifax Business Awards. Jeff joined the Chamber Board of Directors and Executive Committee in 2005. He led the Human Resources and Governance committee to implement the Chamber’s first CEO Assessment process as well as its first Board Self Evaluation program.
Jeff is also actively involved with the AGREATERHalifax 2011-16 Economic Strategy for Halifax, and sits on the International Brand committee. AGREATERHalifax is the result of collaboration between representatives of all three levels of government, business, post-secondary, not-for-profit and community volunteers. The purpose of the project is to ensure the Economic Strategy aligns with the priorities and expectations of business, government, and the Halifax community.
Jeff also served as a judging committee member for the Nova Scotia Sales Awards program and was involved with the Canada Sports Hall of Fame. He has helped raise vital funding and awareness for such community organizations as The Sunshine Foundation, The IWK Health Centre and the Metro Food Bank. Jeff is an active participant in Fusion Halifax’s Mentorship Program, acting as a mentor for young professionals in its inaugural year and continuing on in 2011. Jeff was a steering committee member of the Mount Saint Vincent University’s strategic plan and recently joined the Dean's Medical School Advisory Board at Dalhousie University.
Before joining Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette, Jeff earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and held a series of sales management positions with one of Atlantic Canada’s leading private companies. Originally from Antigonish, he currently lives in the Halifax area with his wife and two daughters. Jeff is also an avid golfer, finding time to pursue his favourite pastime whenever his busy schedule allows.
