The dedicated team at North Nova Seafoods strives each day to ensure that every pound of product processed and shipped meets or exceeds its customers’ highest quality standards. Since its founding in 1987, the company has been buying and processing seafood including Lobster, Herring, Rock Crab, Mackerel and Snow Crab throughout the year. North Nova Seafoods is looking to hire a Vice President, Operations.
Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President, Operations will be responsible for leading and guiding the production team to ensure production goals are consistently achieved and best practices are maintained in the areas of quality, food safety, process compliance, health and safety standards, manufacturing operations, and maintenance. This role provides overall management, coaching and strategic direction to the processing team, and oversees all support services for the efficient operation of the facility, ensuring quality assurance, maintenance, and engineering and logistics. Drawing upon outstanding management and strategic planning skills, the Vice President, Operations must identify strategic priorities and activities and implement key performance indicators that will consistently measure production value and efficiency. Demonstrating visible leadership and a clear vision of how to effectively achieve established goals and objectives, you will lead by example as a hands-on and practical leader who creates a positive work environment, makes sound decisions and maintains a high degree of accountability for achieving results.
As the ideal candidate, you are a highly-skilled production leader with experience in a senior management role in a food production or related manufacturing environment. You are a results-oriented, self-motivated, high performance professional with a demonstrated drive to succeed and to inspire operational excellence. You have a proven ability to maximize efficiencies through well-developed policies, procedures and checks and balances, and ensure operations are consistently cost effective. With a natural detail orientation and an analytical approach, you are highly proficient in effectively managing production cycles and you ensure your team is consistently up to date on all goals and objectives, accountable for generating good results, and achieving performance objectives. You are practiced in establishing and measuring performance targets, and implementing appropriate systems to improve overall operations and performance. You have natural interpersonal and communication skills, and can cultivate confidence and trust in your team through integrity, transparency, patience and high standards. Your hands-on style allows you to lead by example, and your track record of experience in a complex operational environment equips you with the appropriate tools and training to ensure your team’s success.
