As it enters the final stages of acquiring TECO Energy Inc., Emera will nearly double its assets from $11 billion to $20 billion and put an even greater emphasis on this corporate leadership role.

Based in the Halifax, Nova Scotia office and reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Security, you will continue to develop and oversee a high performance enterprise cyber security program that includes the corporate IT networks and operational cyber environments in multiple jurisdictions. Working with IT and security professionals in the business units, you will be responsible for developing and recommending policy, plans and programs for approval and maintaining the cyber security framework. You’ll provide development expertise for the creation and maintenance of cyber security guidelines, education and awareness. From an executional perspective, you will oversee cyber security technology implementation in the business units, conduct technical assessments and penetration testing. Active and visible across Emera, you will be responsible for ensuring that cyber security is aligned with corporate goals.
Likely a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science with a CISM, CISSP, CISA or other industry-recognized certification, you have extensive corporate IT experience including 7 – 10 years of progressively senior leadership in cyber security. Ideally, you have had exposure to the power, utility or energy sector. Complementing your technical credentials are your influencing, strategizing, communication and people management skills.
