Essential to the Town’s continued success and development is the addition of the Director of Human Resources and Employee Relations.

The Director of Human Resources and Employee Relations will provide proactive leadership, engagement and strategic direction to the human resources function for the Town. Working closely with the Town Manager and other senior staff, s/he will act as a partner and resource for the organization by leading and guiding labor relations, office management and administration, employee relations, recruitment, staff development and training and employee wellness. The Director will ensure that HR best practices and continuous improvement are implemented across all lines of the organization.

The Director of Human Resources and Employee Relations will bring a demonstrated successful track record of planning and managing human resource strategies within a complex organization. A results driven professional, with a high sense of urgency, s/he must have completed a degree or diploma in human resource management or a related field combined with a minimum of five (5) years progressive experience. The ability to negotiate, interpret and manage collective bargaining agreements, process grievances and effectively oversee employee relations issues are is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, experience in office management with the ability to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect is also required.
